Changing Add-Ons After Registration

Currently, EventCreate does not support changing add-ons after an attendee has completed registration.

Currently, EventCreate does not support changing add-ons after an attendee has completed registration.

Add-ons appear as secondary options on your registration form once a guest confirms they are attending, and they are locked after checkout.

After registration, you cannot:

  • Remove an add-on from an existing order

  • Edit or swap add-ons

  • Change add-on quantities

Once an order is completed, add-ons cannot be modified directly.


If an Attendee Needs to Cancel or Modify an Add-On

If an attendee needs to cancel an add-on:

  1. Go to Attendee List

  2. Edit the attendee record

  3. Add a note indicating:

    • Which add-on was canceled

    • That a partial refund was issued

This keeps your order data intact while documenting the change.


If an Attendee Wants to Purchase an Additional Add-On

Option 1: Delete the Order and Re-Register

If the attendee wants to add more add-ons to their original purchase:

  1. Delete and refund the original order

  2. Have the attendee register again and select the correct add-ons

This is the simplest option if they haven’t attended yet.


Option 2: Sell Add-Ons Using an Additional Form (Recommended)

If you want to:

  • Allow guests to purchase add-ons after registration, or

  • Allow guests who are not attending to purchase add-ons

You can create the add-on as an Additional Form (a separate purchase link). To set this up, follow this guide:

Option 3: Convert the Add-On Into a Ticket Type

To allow attendees to purchase the ticket more than once using the same email address:

  1. Go to Setup → Registration

  2. Make sure RSVP No is unchecked

  3. Go to the Advanced tab

  4. Uncheck Unique Registration

This allows attendees to register again and purchase the add-on as a ticket.


Best Practices


Summary

  • Add-ons cannot be changed after registration

  • Refund canceled add-ons via Stripe and note the change

  • Delete and re-register to add add-ons to an existing order

  • Use Additional Forms or ticket types for flexible add-on sales
