If an attendee has already registered and later wants to bring a guest, there are a couple of ways to handle this depending on your event setup:
Option 1: Have the Guest Register Using the Event Link (Recommended)
The simplest option is to have the additional guest register normally using the event registration link.
Once the guest has registered:
Go to your Attendee List
Open the guest’s attendee record
Add a note indicating they are a guest of the primary attendee
This keeps each attendee as a separate record while still allowing you to track relationships between guests.
Option 2: Re-Registering an Attendee (Delete and Start Over)
If an attendee wants to re-submit their registration (for example, to add a guest during checkout), you must delete the original order first and then have them register again using the event link.
Important:
Deleting only the attendee record is not enough
The associated order must also be deleted to avoid conflicts or duplicate registrations
Follow this guide to correctly remove the order before re-registering:
Once the order is deleted, the attendee can register again using the event link.
Option 3: The Host Can Manually Add the Guest
You can also manually add the guest to your event.
This option is useful if:
The guest cannot access the registration form
You are handling RSVPs on their behalf
The event is invite-only
After manually adding the guest:
Edit the attendee details
Add a note indicating they are a guest of the primary attendee
Best Practices
Each guest should have their own attendee record
Use attendee notes to track guest relationships
Always delete the order before re-registration to prevent issues
Summary
If an attendee wants to add a guest:
Have the guest register separately or
If re-registering, delete the order first, then start over
Manually add the guest and link them to the primary attendee using notes
This keeps your attendee list clean and your reporting accurate.
