📧 I Sent a Test Email or Invitation, but Never Received It. Why?

Our system blocks test emails for incomplete websites because they get flagged by spam filters and become undeliverable.

If you didn’t receive your test email or invitation, it’s likely due to an incomplete website setup. Emails from incomplete event sites are often flagged by spam filters and blocked from delivery.

✉️ Two Ways to Send a Test Email:

Option 1: Basic Test (Preview Only)

  • Go to Emails/Invites > Templates

  • Click the ⋯ (three dots) next to the email template

  • Select Send Test Email

Note: Personalization fields (like first name, last name) will not populate in this version.

Option 2: Recommended – Real Preview

To see exactly what your guests will receive:

  • Add yourself to the Attendee List

  • Go to Emails/Invites > Send New Email

  • Choose your email template

  • Select yourself as the recipient
This shows the actual data merge and formatting your guests will experience.

✅ What to Do If Email is Not Received:

  1. Complete your event website – Add essential content like event name, date, and details.

  2. Check your spam, junk, or promotions folders – Test emails may be filtered, especially if it’s your first time using Happenly.

  3. Try resending the test email once the website is complete.

  4. Please try Option 2 above to preview the email as an actual recipient.

📊 Check Email Stats

To confirm if the email was successfully sent:

  1. Go to Emails/Invites > Email Stats

  2. Click View next to the relevant email to see open rates, bounce status, etc.

You can also track email activity per guest:

  • Go to the Attendee List

  • Scroll right to view email status columns (sent, opened, bounced)
