If you’ve created a new event for this year and want to redirect visitors from a past event URL (or from an incorrect URL) to your new EventCreate website, there are a few options depending on your setup.
Option 1: Update the Past Event Website With a Redirect Message (Recommended)
The most reliable option is to update the old event website with a clear redirect message and link.
How to do this:
Open last year’s event in your dashboard
Go to Website Editor
Add a banner, text block, or button at the top of the page
Include a message such as:
“Check out our past events or This event has moved. Please visit our new event website below.”Link the button or text to your new EventCreate URL
Optional: If you want to prevent registrations on the old event entirely
This ensures anyone visiting the old link is immediately guided to your new event.
Option 2: Reusing an Old Event URL
If you’d like to use the same URL from a previous event on your new event website, you’ll need to free up that URL first.
How to reuse an old URL:
Go to the old event
Save your changes
Once the URL is no longer in use, you can assign the original URL to your new event website. This is helpful if you want to keep a consistent link year after year.
Option 3: Custom Domain – Remove or Update
If you are using a custom domain, you can remove it from a past event and assign it to a new one.
How to manage your custom domain:
Click Custom Domains
Remove the custom domain from the old event
Assign the custom domain to your new event
Important notes about custom domains:
A custom domain and SSL certificate are valid for one year
The custom domain fee applies per domain, per year
Domains can only be assigned to one event at a time

Important Notes
EventCreate does not automatically redirect one event URL to another
Old event URLs remain active unless updated manually
Adding a redirect message or reusing the same URL helps avoid attendee confusion
Best Practices for Annual or Recurring Events
For events that run every year:
Keep one “current event” link saved and reused
Update your marketing materials each year
Add redirect messaging to past event pages
