Creating and Using Attendee Tags

Tags are a powerful way to categorize your attendees, manage permissions, and organize your event communication.

Method 1: Uploading Tags via CSV (Bulk Upload)

If you have a large list of attendees, the fastest way to create and assign tags is during the initial upload.

Step-by-Step:

  1. Prepare your File: Open our sample CSV file. Ensure your columns include First Name, Last Name, and Email.

  2. Add Tags: If an attendee needs multiple tags, separate them with a comma (e.g., VIP, Speaker, Workshop A).

  3. Upload: Upload your invitation list to the Attendee List. The system will automatically detect the tags and create them for you instantly.

Check for Consistency: Before uploading, double-check your spelling. The system is literal: using SPONSOR and SPONSORS will result in two different tags. Consistency ensures your filters work correctly later.

Method 2: Creating Tags Manually

Use this method if you need to set up your tag library before attendees register or if you only need to add a few specific categories.

Step-by-Step:

  1. Navigate to Manage Tags: In your dashboard, go to Tools > More > Manage Tags.

  2. Access Attendee Tags: Select the option to Manage Attendee Tags.

  3. Define Your Tags: Click to create new tags. Enter the names of the categories you wish to use (e.g., "Staff," "Press," "Exhibitor").

  4. Assign to Attendees:

    • Go to your Attendee List.

    • Search for the specific person.

    • Click Edit Attendee.

    • Select the appropriate tags from your pre-defined list and save.
