Who Pays Credit Card Fees?

When selling tickets through EventCreate, Stripe applies a credit card processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 USD per transaction. What happens to that fee is up to you:

As the event coordinator, you have the option to:

1. Attendee-Pays (Default Setting)

Ticket buyers cover the Stripe processing fee.

  • You receive the full ticket price.

  • The fee is added on top: Ticket Price + 2.9% + $0.30.

  • Great for keeping your net revenue clean and predictable.

STRIPE FEE CALCUATOR: Since you're getting the full total ticket amount deposited into your account, the fee is charged against the ticket price + the fee (not just against the ticket price). If you'd like to calculate this, you can use the "reverse calculator" here: omniprofitcalculator.com/stripe-fee-calculator

2. Organizer-Absorbs

You cover the Stripe fee—ticket buyers don’t see it.

  • You get Ticket Price – 2.9% – $0.30.

  • You will receive the cost of the ticket - 2.9% - $0.30 before being deposited into your Stripe account.

  • Use this if you want simple, flat pricing for attendees.

How to Change the Setting

EventCreate's default settings are Attendee Pays fees. You can change this under Setup > Payments.

  • Navigate to Setup → Payments in your EventCreate dashboard.

  • Under “Payment Settings,” toggle between:

    • Attendee pays fees

    • Organizer absorbs fees

Why It Matters

  • Attendee-Pays ensures you get the full ticket amount every time.

  • Organizer-Absorbs keeps ticket prices straightforward for your audience—but reduces your revenue per sale.
