How to Disconnect or Change Your Stripe Account

Need to switch or disconnect your Stripe account on EventCreate? Here's how to do it cleanly and confidently.

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Visit eventcreate.com/dashboard/profile, then go to Stripe Payments in your profile settings

2. Click the More menu (the “…” icon), then choose Disconnect Stripe:

3. A confirmation prompt will pop up—click OK to confirm the disconnect:

4. Want to link a new Stripe account? Click Connect Stripe and you'll be redirected to Stripe. There, either log into your existing account or set up a new one.

5. Then, you will be directed to Stripe to select or set up your payment account.

If you're in the U.S., you'll need your EIN (for businesses) or SSN (for individuals), plus your bank routing and account numbers to complete the connection.

When you're done, you will be redirected back to EventCreate--and then you're ready to go!

6. When connected, you’ll see the Payments Activated screen and your Payment Status will show as Active. Stripe will verify your bank details before payments go live:

7. You can also confirm that your account is connected when your Payment Status is Active.

If you see an error on EventCreate that Stripe needs more information, please log into Stripe account to provide additional details requested. Stripe needs to verify account holders, click here for information on document required to verify your Stripe account: https://support.stripe.com/topics/verification

  • These must match your business or personal information exactly (e.g., business name/address, EIN/SSN).

  • Upload clear, current documents—if multiple pages are required, bundle them into a single PDF.
