What is OTP (One-Time Password)?
OTP (One-Time Password) is an extra security step used to protect your account.
When OTP is enabled, logging in or resetting your password requires:
Your password
A temporary code that changes every time you log in
This makes sure that even if someone gets your password, they still can’t access your account without the OTP.
How does OTP work?
If OTP is enabled on your EventCreate account, you’ll be asked to enter a one-time code after resetting your password.
The OTP can come from one of the following:
Option 1: Authenticator App (Recommended)
An authenticator app generates a new 6-digit code every 30 seconds.
Common authenticator apps include:
Open your authenticator app and enter the current code shown.
Option 2: Email OTP (if enabled)
In some cases, the one-time password may be sent to your email address. Enter the code exactly as shown.
When is OTP required?
OTP is only required if it has already been set up on your account
If you have not enabled OTP, you will not be asked for a one-time password during login or password reset
Can I turn OTP off?
OTP can be managed in your account security settings. If you no longer have access to your authenticator app or OTP codes, contact support for assistance.
Why am I being asked for OTP during a password reset?
If OTP is enabled, EventCreate will always ask for the one-time password when:
Resetting your password
Logging in from a new device
Accessing sensitive account settings
This is intentional and helps keep your account secure.
My OTP code isn’t working
Make sure you’re entering the current code (codes refresh every 30 seconds)
Check that your device’s date and time are set automatically
Enter the code exactly as shown, without spaces
I didn’t receive an OTP email
If your account uses email-based OTP:
Check your spam or junk folder
Confirm you’re using the correct email address
Wait a minute and try again
