You can add videos via embedding a YouTube or Vimeo link onto your EventCreate website.
To add a video, hover over where you want to add the video and click on the plus icon in the toolbar. Use the popup to add the video link you want to embed.
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1: Go to the Website Editor by clicking on Setup > Website.
Step 2: Click on Edit Website.
Step 3: To add a video inline, hover over where you want to add the video and click on the plus sign icon in the toolbar. This will give you an option to add Video, Images, Text, etc. Select Video.
Step 4: Click on the video player for this pop up box to appear:
Step 5: Add in the YouTube or Vimeo link. Make sure to add the right url format:
YOUTUBE URL FORMAT:
For YouTube videos, please make sure to add the full URL format: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TnwttOReIQ (NOT: www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TnwttOReIQ)
YouTube autoplay is available, but the setup is a little technical as you need to insert the video embed code via the HTML editor and append the autoplay URL parameter to autostart the video.
VIMEO VIDEO FORMAT:
For Vimeo videos, please make sure the video is public, so that it is viewable by everyone.
We currently only support urls like https://vimeo.com/182595047. If your vimeo link is in another format, the best workaround would be to use a custom embed. To get the embed code, see: https://share.zight.com/xQuk518W
Then you can add this code into your Happenly website by right clicking on any section and selecting “edit html”. From there, you can copy and paste their embed code from vimeo.
To add the video to your site using the html embed code, see a demo here: https://share.zight.com/4guG8Gk4
Please note: To embed this Vimeo video to another site, you need to make sure to enable that setting under your Vimeo account. See demo here: https://share.zight.com/NQunXQn8
Steps to Get the Embed Code for an Unlisted Vimeo Video:
Go to Vimeo and log into your account.
Find the video you want to embed.
Click on the "Settings" (gear icon) for the video.
Go to the "Privacy" tab.
Make sure the video is set to:"Unlisted" (Only people with the link)"OR "Anyone" (if you want it fully public)
If embedding is restricted, scroll down to "Where can this video be embedded?" and set it to:"Anywhere" (if you want to embed it anywhere)OR "Specific domains" (if embedding is allowed only on certain websites)
Click "Save" if you made any changes.
Click the "Share" button on the video.
Copy the embed code from the "Embed" section.
Troubleshooting:
If embedding is disabled, check the privacy settings under "Where can this video be embedded?"
If it's set to "Only on Vimeo", you won’t be able to embed it elsewhere.
If the video owner has disabled embedding, you won’t be able to override it.
Step 6: Click “Save and Update”
Step 7: To save changes, click Save Website > Save and Continue Editing
