My guests can’t register: “email already registered” error

How to allow multiple registrations using the same email address

By default, EventCreate prevents the same email address from registering more than once.

If you want attendees to be able to register or purchase tickets multiple times using the same email, you’ll need to update a few registration settings.

Important limitation 🚨

If you are using the Attendee App, this feature is not supported. The Attendee App requires unique email addresses and does not allow multiple registrations using the same email.


How to allow multiple registrations with the same email

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1: Update Registration Type

1. On the Event Dashboard, select Setup > Registration under the Setup heading.

2. Under the Setup tab, uncheck the “RSVP No” option. RSVP-only events restrict repeat registrations by email.

Step 2: Turn off Unique Email per Ticket

3. Under Registration, click on the Advanced tab:

4. Turn OFF Unique Email for each Ticket and click Update to Save:

5: Turn OFF Unique Registration and click Update to Save.

These settings control whether the same email can be used more than once.


Still seeing issues?

If guests are still receiving an “email already registered” error, double-check:

  • RSVP is disabled

  • Unique Email for each Ticket is turned off

  • Unique Registration is turned off

  • The event is not using the Attendee App
